Privacy Policy

Last revised: 24 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how 1Bio.lat (“1Bio”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit or use 1Bio.lat and its related mobile and desktop interfaces (the “Site”). 1Bio is operated from Rua Senador Dantas 117, 20031-204 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and acts as the controller of your personal data. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

This Policy applies to information we collect on the Site, in email, chat, and other messages between you and us, and through features that link to this Policy. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control, even where they are linked from the Site. We may update this Policy from time to time, as described in “Changes to this Policy”.

1. Minors are not permitted

The Site is intended solely for adults. You may use it only if you are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority where you live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not market to them. If you are under 18, you must not provide any information to us and must leave the Site. If we learn that someone under 18 has registered, we will take steps to close the account; we may retain limited identifiers such as email address and IP address to prevent that person from registering again.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you provide. Registration details (such as email address, password, display name, date of birth, gender, country or location, and preferred language); profile content you choose to publish (photos, descriptions, attributes, and preferences); identity and age-verification data (such as a government-issued ID and a selfie) where required; information needed to add Wallet credit or purchase Premium (payments are handled by payment processors, and we do not store full card numbers); messages and content you submit through the Site; and correspondence when you contact support or respond to a survey.
  • Information collected automatically. When you use the Site we may collect your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring pages, pages and profiles viewed, actions taken, timestamps, approximate location derived from your IP address, and similar log and usage data, including through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Information from third parties. For example, confirmation and status information from payment processors, and signals from service providers that help us prevent fraud and abuse.

Any sensitive details that appear in your profile are placed there voluntarily by you, and you control what you publish and to whom it is visible through your visibility settings.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files or identifiers stored on your device. We use essential cookies (for login, sessions, security, and CSRF protection), preference cookies (such as language and display settings), and measurement technologies that help us understand aggregate usage. Our pages and emails may contain web beacons or pixels that let us measure engagement and verify delivery. You can control cookies through your browser settings; if you block certain cookies, parts of the Site may not function properly.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and your account;
  • provide the features you request, including profiles, search, messaging, the Wallet, and Premium;
  • process payments and maintain Wallet and transaction records;
  • verify age and identity and meet related legal record-keeping obligations;
  • send you service and administrative messages, such as account, security, and expiry or renewal notices;
  • prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, spam, abuse, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
  • personalize content and analyze trends and usage; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.

With your consent, we may also send you promotional messages about our own or selected third-party offers. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

5. Legal bases for processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Site, your account, and the Wallet); compliance with a legal obligation (such as age verification, record-keeping, and tax duties); our legitimate interests (such as keeping the Site and network secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving our services), balanced against your rights and freedoms; and your consent (for example, for marketing, optional cookies, and any sensitive content you choose to publish). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, which does not affect processing carried out beforehand.

6. How we share your information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers. With vendors who process data on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and fraud and abuse tooling, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • Other users. Content you publish in your profile is visible to others according to your visibility settings, and messages are delivered to the recipients you choose.
  • Legal and safety. To comply with the law, court orders, or lawful requests; to enforce our Terms; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of 1Bio, our users, or others, including cooperation with authorities on fraud and anti-trafficking matters.
  • Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the successor entity.
  • With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you without restriction.

7. Advertising and third-party tracking

Some content or advertisements on the Site may be served by third parties, who may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to collect information about your activity over time and across websites in order to deliver interest-based advertising. We do not control these third parties or their technologies. Where required, we obtain consent for non-essential tracking through our cookie controls. If you have questions about a specific advertisement, contact the responsible provider directly.

8. Your choices

You can review, update, or delete profile information in your account settings, and you can close your account at any time. You can manage cookies through your browser. You can opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by emailing us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service or transactional messages.

9. Your rights under Brazilian law (LGPD)

If the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, LGPD) applies to you, you may request: confirmation that we process your data; access to your data; correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data; anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data or data processed unlawfully; portability; deletion of data processed on the basis of consent; information about entities with whom we have shared your data; information about the consequences of refusing consent; and withdrawal of consent. To exercise these rights, email privacy@1bio.lat; we may need to verify your identity first. You may also contact the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). Our data protection officer (encarregado) can be reached at the same address.

10. Your rights in the EU and EEA (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Other regions

Residents of other jurisdictions may have additional rights under their local laws. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

12. Do Not Track signals

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret these signals, we do not currently respond to them. We do, however, offer the choices described in this Policy.

13. How long we keep your information

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations (for example, age-verification and transaction records), to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period.

14. How we protect your information

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption of data in transit, limited-access servers, and regular backups. No method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, and you should notify us promptly of any suspected compromise.

15. International data transfers

Your information may be processed in Brazil and in other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards to such transfers. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in these locations.

16. Links to other websites

The Site may contain links to websites we do not operate or control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any website you visit.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new revision date, and where appropriate we will notify you by other means. You are responsible for keeping your contact details current and for reviewing this page periodically.
